Community Sponsorship

Dane’s community sponsorship helps its garden grow.

The Dane Housing group has again this year launched its sponsorship programme which spreads small amounts as fairly as possible amongst the many needy community groups across the Borough to help them fund their activities.

One group which has benefited regularly from Dane’s sponsorship fund is Congleton in Bloom and Buglawton in Bloom, organised last year by Ernie Clarke and Margaret Williamson, with the help of other willing residents and supporters such as Congleton Borough Council and their partners. Their hard work and continuous commitment to improving the appearance and environment of the town is much appreciated by the community. Last year this was recognised by the Britain in Bloom organisers when Congleton won the Best Small Town and then went on to represent the North West in Britain in Bloom, and Buglawton won the Smallest Neighbourhood award in the regional competition. These are marvellous accolades and act as inspiration to other groups as examples of community projects clearly emanating from the community itself, working together hand in hand, and for this reason Dane Housing has supported Congleton in Bloom and Buglawton in Bloom for many years. Ernie Clarke kindly recognised this when he said last year, “We have put Buglawton back on the map once more with Dane’s help".

Other groups which have benefited from Dane Housing sponsorship last year include Mossley Pre-School, Congleton Lawn Tennis Club, Congleton First Responders, T. A.T.R.A., St Mary’s Primary School and Sandbach Voices. Applications for up to £300 are invited from good causes which require support and all are carefully considered. If your group would like further information please email Val Anderson at valanderson@dane-housing.co.uk or phone on 01260 288297
