Our Home Contents Insurance Scheme
Although we manage and maintain our homes, it is our residents’ responsibility to insure their personal belongings, household goods and contents, and so we strongly recommend that they take out household contents insurance.
Some residents believe that The Dane Housing Group automatically insures their furniture, belongings and decorations against fire, theft, vandalism or water damage, such as burst pipes. As this is not the case, please do not wait until after the damage has been done to protect your belongings, goods and home contents. These items are expensive if you have to pay for their replacements.
How to take out Home Contents Insurance
We have arranged a special scheme, which is open to all residents and makes it is easy for you to protect your belongings at a special low cost rate.

Prospectus
To ensure that you are always covered you must keep your payments up to date. Failure to do so could affect any claim settlement and will lead to the cancellation of your insurance.
Premiums can be paid by cash at any Post Office fortnightly or monthly using a swipe card, monthly by direct debit or annually by cheque, postal order or debit/credit card.
Please remember - It is important not to undervalue your contents as, in the event of a claim, the insurer will not pay the full value.
