Looking for a Mutual Exchange

A mutual exchange is when you as a tenant exchange your home with another tenant from either The Dane Housing Group or from another housing association or council.

Mutual exchanges are easy to organise and can be a quick way of moving to another home in another area. If you find a resident with whom you wish to exchange, please obtain written permission from us in order to proceed with the move.

HomeSwapper is a service to help you swap your home with another resident, previousy known as a 'mutual exchange'. The Dane Housing Group has partnered with HomeSwapper to provide this service free to its residents.

HomeSwapper is the largest mutual exchange service in the UK and over 70%* of new members are matched automatically to one or more potential swaps within 24 hours, as the opportunity to find a swap is increased because:

1. HomeSwapper has over 36,000* members and growing

2. Any tenant of any social landlord can register

3. Tenants can swap with any registered social landlord, not just The Dane Housing Group

4. HomeSwapper covers all of the UK, so tenants can find swaps locally or nationally.

You can search for homes at www.HomeSwapper.co.uk without registering, and also look at maps to help you work out the location of a home with which you may want to swap.

If you register, HomeSwapper will automatically search every night for potential new swaps that meet your requirements and these can be viewed in your private area of the website at anytime.

Also HomeSwapper will send alerts of potential new swaps by email weekly (if you have email) or text message fortnightly (if you have a mobile phone). If you do not have email or text facilities, contact us on 01260 281037 for further information.

To join the scheme register at www.HomeSwapper.co.uk stating that the name of your landlord is The Dane Housing Group and then you can select up to nine areas where you would consider living. Alternatively, if you do not have internet access you can contact Dane on 01260 281037 and we will register you.

Please note: if you were previously registered with Dane's Mutual Exchange Scheme, you will need to re-register with HomeSwapper as, due to Data Protection, your information cannot be transfered.

Don't forget - you can not exchange properties with anyone without first obtaining written permission from both landlords.
